Midweek Herald editor Belinda Bennett has always longed for a garden pond. Inspired by childhood memories of a neighbour's pond in a back garden in Whitebridges, Honiton, she has since enjoyed happy times observing aquatic life in a pond of near lake proportions at the home of a friend's parents in rural Dorset. Water clarity

I have noticed today that my pond water is clearing.
I'm assuming this is due to a slight dip in temperature.
Pond weed has taken root. Will probably 'cull' a bit, to avoid it taking over.
